This Fall, we at Smith & Boucher said farewell to a valued member of our work family.  Daniel O’Grady, former president of the company, officially retired after dedicating 40 years of service to Smith & Boucher.
Dan served as President from 1997 to 2003, and has retained a leadership role as a Vice President in the years since.  Dan also served as Trustee of the Smith & Boucher Employee Stock Option Plan.  Dan was a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he earned a  Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1968.  He also completed his post graduate work in Business and Economics at the University of California.

Dan’s work at Smith & Boucher included project management and design of mechanical and electrical systems for both new and renovated industrial, commercial, institutional and residential facilities.  Dan also provided forensic engineering services, such as fire investigations and reports, with an emphasis on electrical cause and origin.

Dan’s retirement will give him more time to spend with his lovely wife, Aileen, in their adopted home state of California.  Dan loves touring wine country, tennis, and doing volunteer work for his local library and church.  Dan’s experience with the construction industry has benefitted him as he serves as Planning Commissioner for San Luis Obispo County.  Dan is also active as a volunteer tax advocate for the elderly in his community.  We’ll miss you, Dan!
